Because the failure rate of software projects is estimated between 35% and over 50%.  Generally, the failure rate is attributed to poor communication, inappropriate expectation management, and engaging the wrong technology.  We believe these are merely symptoms of a larger problem.  That there is a missing link between the business vision and the technologist tasked to bring the vision to market.

Even in the best case scenario where the project is clearly defined and the team is ideal for the task, simply handing the developers a project and saying “go build it” is the equivalent of putting together a great football team and saying “go win!” Without a coach, there is guaranteed to be more losses than wins.
